Tacelli, SJ, "Twenty Arguments for the Existence of God".[1]
Kreeft took his A.B. at Calvin College (1959) and an M.A. at Fordham University (1961). In the same university he completed his doctoral studies in 1965. He briefly did post-graduate studies at Yale University.
Kreeft has received several honors for achievements in philosophical reasoning.

Kreeft joined the philosophy faculty of the Department of Philosophy of Boston College in 1965. His intellectual reputation stems from his strengths in debating and summarizing the philosophical arguments of the major Western philosophers. He has debated several academics in issues related to God’s existence. Shortly after he began teaching at Boston College he was challenged to a debate on the existence of God between himself and Paul Breines, an atheist and history professor. Kreeft later used many of the arguments in this debate to create the Handbook of Christian Apologetics with then undergraduate student Ronald K. Tacelli, S.J..

  • The Three Philosophies of Life

    0

“I’ve been a philosopher for all my adult life and the three most profound books of philosophy that I have ever read are Ecclesiastes, Job, and Song of Songs.” These are the opening lines of Kreeft’s Three Philosophies of Life. Kreeft takes up the big questions of life, and marshals the answers with consummate grace and skill. He reflects that there are ultimately only three philosophies of life and each one is represented by one of these books of the Bible: Life is vanity: Ecclesiastes Life is suffering: Job Life is love: Song of Songs Finally, Kreeft sees in these books the epitome of theological virtues of faith, hope and love and “an essential summary of the spiritual history of the world”. Peter Kreeft is a professor of philosophy at Boston College. He is the author of many articles and books including Heaven: The Heart’s Deepest Longing, Fundamentals of the Faith, A Turn of the Clock, and Letters to Jesus.

    0

Peter Kreeft brings his unique insights to this most important area of our spiritual lives. Thus, Kreeft offers simple, but profound advice and practical steps for developing a prayer life based on the time-tested wisdom of the saints and great spiritual writers, especially the principles found in Brother Lawrence’s classic, The Practice of the Presence of God. In short, straight-forward and unsentimental chapters, Kreeft covers all the key areas for understanding and developing that intimate form of communication with our Creator that we call prayer. He covers such areas as the necessity of prayer, various motives and methods, steps, patience, suffering, sin, faith, and grace.
